Hoeve Suydeinde
The farming village of Aarlanderveen is surrounded by vast, reclaimed peatland pastures. These polders are drained by a cascade of mills (four in a row), which gradually pump the water into the Oude Rijn. This is the only mill cascade in the world still in operation. Caroline and Klaas de Jong run a sheep farm at Hoeve Suydeinde, where more than 120 lambs are born every spring.
